The scorecard may say Yates is captain, but watching the team in the field, Alex Mellor was running the side.
While Robert may be dead, Robert was not all Mugabe's.
There are GOOD Mugabe's
It is Warwickshire County Cricket Club!

We did OK yesterday, no more. I got there just as we were getting stuck in with the end of our Innings.  Ethan Brookes looked imperious (71) and was well supported by Mellor, Miles and Panayi (all got 20's), finshing on 455 (in 123 overs, so at a fair lick).  Our bowling started with a bang - getting a quick wicket and keeping the run rate down, but then Worcester got going and finished the day on 158 for 3 (Haynes on 81 NO).  Only Miles looked ineffective, all others kept it tight - 2 wickets for George Garrett (who looked very good - only 28 runs off him in 11 overs) and 1 for Bailey Wightman (who did go for a few runs).  Ethan Brookes, George Panayi and George Furrer bowled very economically and Dan Mousley had a bit of a spin.

Awful forecast today (I doubt if there'll be any play), but I hope to be there tomorrow (decent forecast at the moment), to enjoy us trying to bowl the Pears out twice!

Back at Portland Road.  Lunch now.  Worcester declared at start of play today (158 for 3), we declared (0 for 0) and Worcester are batting again, needing 298 to win.  They are 98 for 4 after 28 overs (Westbury, 65 NO).  George Garrett, the pick again (7 overs, 2 for 7 !), ably assisted by Ethan Brookes (1 for 17) and George Panayi (1 for 21).  Poor bowling again from Miles (6 overs for 28 runs).

It looks like a couple of declarations produced a good day's cricket and a close result:

Spot on Terry.  A great advertisement for red ball cricket.  Bold declarations and Worcester genuinely feeling they could get to 298.  In fact they weren't far short (just 10 runs).  Wonderful, tight, bowling from Brookes (14 overs, 3 for 37)  and Garrett (18 overs, 4 for 42 - he looks a great prospect).  Panayi also bowled well in bursts (1 for 37).  OK, but slightly expensive contributions from Wightman and Furrer (a wicket apiece) , but Miles looks way short of any First team ability (and beggars the question, why did we sign him) - bowling 12 overs for 59 runs and never looked like taking any wickets.
