4 day friendly away at Somerset next week. Think i read a couple of weeks ago ECB requested the Notts game to be cancelled so players from both teams could take part in trail matches at Trent Bridge for the 100 ball comp, unless the have changed the dates for this fixture.

Doing well in the Friendly with Somerset:-

http://live.nvplay.com/ecb/#s51f755e6-57...500bd0afc1

We batted first and finished on 514 - Yates 212NO, 79 for Pollock and a couple of 50's for Lamb & Panayi (he's turning into a decent all rounder ?).  Somerset 92 for 4 at the moment  - 2 wickets for Sidebottom (expensively, as usual now) and 1 apiece for Thomson & Milnes (playing again !).

Could be Boyd's last game for us ?

Does anyone know if this 3 day friendly against Notts at Portland Road is still going ahead, either on the scheduled start date Tuesday 18th September or starting a day later on Wednesday? No information on Bears website though it was only ever listed on the fixture card. Notts website has the match starting on Wednesday 19th September as a three day fixture but with venue TBC.

Game at Portland Rd Wed 19th Sept V Notts 3 day friendly. 10.30 start. As per email from Andy Nicholl, although Emily in her report of 100 trial says it has been cancelled. Sent new email to him for clarification.

We heard today that it was cancelled this week so players from Notts could make themselves available, however may have been rescheduled since, not sure about that sorry!

Thanks. This is one area the club still needs to greatly improve on. The issued fixture card has a start date for today and it would not surprise me if some supporters turn up at Portland Road expecting the game to start today. Such changes in fixture dates or cancellations should be posted on the website as soon as the decision has been made as well as on twitter.

A fast scoring day, dominated by a partnership of 277 in 58 overs for the 5th wicket by Matt Lamb 176 and Aaron Thomason 132*. Slightly interrupted by stoppages for bad light and showers in early afternoon. Bears declared at 395-5 and Nottinghamshire scored 12-0 off the 7 overs bowled by Olly Hannon-Dalby and Boyd Rankin (on probably his last appearance in a Bears shirt). It seemed a good batting pitch and the outfield was lightning quick. Two strong teams fielded with Riki Wessels, Jake Libby, Luke Wood, Mark Footitt and Billy Root by Notts. Rob Yates 33, Ed Pollock 10, Adam Hose 4 and Alex Thomson 15 were the other Bears dismissed. Hopefully after today's expected rain, the ground can drain and dry sufficiently for a full day's play on Friday for Notts to chase a 4th innings target against a Bears bowling attack of Hannon-Dalby, Rankin, George Panayi, Tom Milnes, Ethan Brooks, Thomason and Alex Thomson.
