Well done to Olly Stone.  Eight wickets in 22.5 overs while the rest of the bowlers took two in 66 overs.
So far, just 8 fifties and one hundred scored around the country in this round of matches.  The only batsmen who have done anything to advance their England credentials are James Vince and Daniel Bell-Drummond, unless you count Ian Bell, whose England days are probably over.
Four of those fifties were by wicket-keepers, the one category where England really don't have a vacancy.
12 wickets fell for just 25 runs at Old Trafford today. I know it's early season; but that's ridiculous!

Ah. Three down now. Just enough time left to turn a simple draw into a rearguard batting action by the bowlers.

Please tell me there won't be a 2017-style batting collapse!

A really great start to a Warks career for Stone.

Excellent by Stone- really liked his aggression too.

The rest of the bowlers need to step up a bit however- apart from Barker and the aforementioned Stone the bowling looked tame, although I agree today was probably the best day for batting.

But then with the amount of time lost in the game, we can't really draw many firm conclusions, other than the fact that Stone was phenomenal.

Great from Olly Stone!

Any idea why Sidebottom didn't play and Chris Wright did? As much as I like Chris, Ryan at least on last season seemed to be the better pick, and he even made it on the scorecard!

I don't know why Sidebottom didn't play; but those were my thoughts too.

Maybe cos Wright is the better batter? Not that you should pick bowlers for their batting
