Troughton interview on BBC Sport
#1
Interesting interview on BBC Cricket this morning with JT:-

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/41373447

Sounds like he is sticking around as First Team Coach.  I just hope the specialist Coaching postions (Richardson, Frost) are under review, as well as the Captaincy ?  And we still need at least one new experienced (particularly, opening) batsman and possibly a new keeper to replace / shadow the ageing Ambrose (I don't think Mellor is up to being first choice - at the moment) ?

Neil Snowball will have something to say relevant to this in the interview with him that will shortly be published on Deep Extra Cover.

It emerged at last Tuesday's Midland cricket society meeting that NZ are going to sign a trade treaty with the EU in about 10 weeks time. Which will entitle Patel to be registered as a Kolpak player. Colin Povey did not attend because of a mix up over dates but Mike Williams stepped into the breach and it was a very interesting evening.

NS interview Part 1 out now:-

http://deepextracover.com/2017/10/exclus...-part-one/

Key points:-
1) There will be a Review of the Cricket management team
2) There MAY be new player signings (he won't, "rule them out"), but he said most of the recruitment has been done early.

Hopefully they will look in depth at the wicket keeper situation too.

Perhaps Tim Ambrose has a season left as first choice as Alex Mellor has yet to prove himself at Championship level.

We have signed a fair number of players but I do think an opening partner for Sibley is still a priority. Otherwise I think he'll go through partners like Alastair Cook does for England.

Will Rhodes is still to arrive and Olly Stone should be like a new signing.
