Warwickshire v Essex
#1
Will Woakesy be available for the Essex game ?  I would guess he might - he's not in the England T20 squad for Saturday and the ODI's don't start until next Tuesday.

It's all pretty much a forlorn game I know, but it would be good to see a strong team that puts up a decent fight against the probable CC Champions.  It's possible that Somerset might also let us play Hose now - the 'Gentlemen's Agreement' not to play him until Somerset are well clear of us doesn't hold now and I would think Somerset might want us to have a strong team to beat their potential 'rivals' for the second relegation spot (ie if he doesn't play in this game, I would bet they'd want us to play him against Yorkshire !) ?

Game is on Sky.

I would like to see us field a few youngsters although I suppose Warks need to be playing fair to other championship contenders. It would be good just to see us put up a bit of a challenge to Essex

Woakes is available - and so is Tom Westley for Essex; but Alastair Cook isn't.

Given Bell's form might be nice to see Banks or Pollock given a game, and also give Brooks a go replacing Wright

Team I would like to see, Hose availability dependent, is:

Pollock
Sibley
Trott
Bell
Hose/Hain
Ambrose
Woakes
Barker
Patel
Stone
Sidebottom

I really want to be able to want to drop Bell, but I just can't for the fact that he has always been my hero in the side and for England and I cannot stop supporting him. He would be just as well to take himself out of the firing line though.

With no Umeed, I would guess that Mellor will open with Sibley and Hain will play (in effect in place of Ambrose) - with either him or Lamb at 6.  Brookes will miss out and Sunny will play in place of one of the seamers, if the wicket is going to support spin.

No Hose this match - but I bet Somerset will allow him to play next week against Yorkshire - they will be very keen we beat them !

What is deja vu is those two early wickets. Is anyone watching? What's the story?

More deja vu, with Bell gone for less than 40 - again !  And again he was set well for a longer innings, before losing it !  67 for 3.  Pressure on Lamb - again - and pressure on Sibley (hence such a slow scoring rate).

Hain looked unfortunate to be given out - ball looked high. Yes Bell started shakily but then really looked settled and played some vintage shots. Is it a drop in concentration.

75-3 - I think Warks would have taken that at 10.30 given we were put in to bat by No.1 side

Rather annoying collapse just before tea.

Doing quite well until the collapse - Sibley looking quite solid and Lamb looks promising. After tea Sibley needs to keep the strike and hit out a bit now. At least we have seen an embarrassing score like 40-5

Fair play to Sibley. But we are generally bloody awful this season aren't we. Yet another innings we will struggle to make 200.

Well, we got a batting point! What a novelty. However that's pretty disappointing from 153/4 and 181/5.

201 all out. I am fed up of this side, really am. Had just about enough of this now, there are no excuses.

Just saw Patel's dismissal and he was unlucky - given LBW despite the fact that it was missing leg and going over the top by some distance.
