interesting Simon, Maddy did well as a batsman but the team failed. Troughton did well as captain. Maybe the answer is to choose a bowler.
Agreed Paul, Troughton was an excellent captain but like those since, Marie apart, he stopped scoring big runs

Umeed has some serious improving to do before reaching that stage. Averaging 21 as an opening bat is nowhere near good enough
