Great news for Woakes and what a game to play in for his comeback. This is one game Warks must win if we are to have any chance of survival in Div 1

Not so sure the article would be right about him going stright into the test team after only one game when the bowlers so far have not done anything wrong this summer. From a purely selfish point of view i hope the present England bowlers continue to perform well, so he can not get into the team, and plays for us for the rest of the season, and then gets back into the team for the ashes.

Yes but Anderson is 35 now so maybe rested for the lesser of the two series this summer. Good news for Woakes and warwickshire

Here's my preview.

Let's hope that the dodgy forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday is wrong and that Chris Woakes will be all out to prove to the England selectors that he is in top form.

I'm guessing Lamb and Singh will miss out for the starting XI - together with Sidebottom, if Woakes and Wright pass fitness tests ? Be interesting to see who opens with Umeed - probably Sibley ?

Warwickshire win the toss and will bat.
Is it just me or has the Cricinfo site become a complete mess?  It's currently showing Warwickshire as fielding a nine-man team.
I must have a word with George about it!

I agree re Cricinfo Terry - nowhere near as good as it used to be. Good luck to Ryan Sidebottom and Dominic Sibley who make their debuts, great to see the two Chrises back and nice to see we won the toss for a change. Good to see a team which looks to have more depth to it. COYB!

It helps if one of the openers stays in - Umeed out for 1 (5 for 1 after 5 overs) !

TCS link for a well designed scorecard, fed directly from the match scorers

Sam, Sunny and Rankin are the three omitted from the 14 man squad.

Both openers gone early - time for Bell and Trott to build a score.

I too am with Terry regards the new Crickinfo - left it a few days to get used to it but,no, the scorecard is very poorly laid out.
