This is the/a big one.  IF we are ever to avoid relegation, Middlesex are our most likely 'replacements' for the second spot (assuming Somerset are the other drop team).  We MUST win !

Any news on the Bell omission? Carrying a knock?

I see Trotty is captain. Be interesting to see how that goes

Yes - a new Captain in the wings ?!  I said a couple of weeks ago, that Belly might do a 'Luke Wright' and resign as Captain (possibly before the T20 starts - on Friday !), because of the affect on his batting form.  His sore elbow could be the chance to begin a handover ?

Just before lunch is an unfortunate time to lose a wicket. Means the session is about even I'd say.

3 wickets in the morning is always the bowlers session I'm afraid. 2 is even

Given how we've been batting this season, when we've often been 5 or 6 down by lunch, so far I'd say it's about even! Biggrin

There's still time to turn it round, but your top order have to be giving you more than 120 runs. Not good enough

I never ever thought Will Porterfield was an opening batsman in red ball cricket. If you keep exposing your middle-order to the new ball its a problem

Ambrose gone now. he is not doing much with the bat these days.

Not an altogether awful session in the end, particularly by this season's standards. We could do with this partnership continuing for at least another 50 runs after tea though.

The all rounders have come to the rescue as ever for us. At least going to post a competitive total now, hopefully more

Now this IS looking good. Dare we hope for 4 batting points. They have a lot of missing players so we must hope for even better things and as their bowling looks ordinary, we should be alright for 2nd innings runs also. Might be a good toss to lose (even though there was no toss - you know what I mean) for a change.
