Yorkshire RL Cup
#1
Bears unchanged.  I'm pleased they've stuck with Adair and Thornton, less pleased Thomason is given another go.

Yorks won the toss and decided to bat - already 1 wicket down (for Barker).

Don't make such statements, you'll be frowned upon...

I'll cope !  I remain convinced that a specialist batsman should come in instead of Thomason - and bat higher up the order.  For me (and many on here), that should be Westwood

For me and quite a few others,it should be anyone but Westwood.

FINALLY - we've got our act together.  A win in the first RL Cup game and one in the last.  We'll just forget about the 6 in the middle !

The 'Triumvirate' seem to have sorted it out - but by luck or by judgement ?!

Shame Belly missed out on another ton - he seems to be getting out a lot in the 90's now.

Yes indeed the triumvirate got their act together :)

Excellent win and some inertia hopefully to take into T20. As I said in recent posts.... we just need a couple of guys who can score quickly and we may do ok in that competition.

Well done to the team....

Here's my report:

The Bears didn't look like a team that had lost six in a row.

So impressive yesterday - well done! It was good to see all the working parts come together for maybe the first time this season. Also, the XI fielded by Yorkshire was possibly the strongest side fielded in county cricket this season.

Special mentions for Rikki, Jeets, Ronnie and Grant Thornton for the second consecutive game. Great to see Belly in good touch. Long may it last.

Yes, we face a relegation battle in the four day game. Relegation would be a disaster for the club.

However this section is about one day cricket.... Fifty over cricket is now unimportant this season - for us the competition is over.

The only competition left for us to win is T20.

For you, Ashley, the war is over.
