Is this the guy that had a disagreement with Collingwood a few years ago? One of our bowlers (was it Sidebottom?) completely took him out but Collingwood as captain insisted the run out should stand.

If he's the guy I'm thinking of, he's not a bad player.

Prima facie fantastic signing. Always rated him whenever I have seen him in the short format. We should have a good team for a decent crack at the Blast this season.

Is there a good case for Ash to extend his contract, to cover our lack of batting depth ?  As a Kolpak, he could play in the Championship (and 50 over).  I don't know whether he has any other playing commitments at this point in the season ?

I'd imagine he'll have T20 commitments all over the world which is why we only have him for the Blast even though he is a Kolpak now?

After the T20, is there any chance we might turn to him for the rest of the season - ie in the CC ?

Ash did say in that interview, that although he didn't favour Kolpaks, he wouldn't rule them out if necessary !

I asked Grant this question a couple of weeks ago and he said.....no chance!

This should prepare Grant Elliott for a typical Edgbaston Friday evening:
