Warwickshire v Lancashire

The ECB seem at times to delight in saying how unpopular cricket is in order to promote their change agenda - see this latest example:
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/wwe-wrestlers-m...ms-1581789
They tend to forget that they are the organisation who have for years been entrusted with promoting the game.  In effect, they are saying "we've got it all wrong so far; but trust us, we'll get it right this time."
Bearing in mind that the Yorkshire game is being televised, maybe it would be a good opportunity to increase the recognition factor for a few England players like Jonny Bairstow.

A simple first step to getting kids interested in cricket is get it on free to air tv. Then play the game at the weekends and make sure there is a full schedule of cricket during school holidays.

Yep - that's how my interest in kabaddi started - channel 4.

I understand that Sky may want their pick and show premium games - but there should be something for FTA..... but the question is - is FTA interested anymore?

The England set up really do pick and choose who can play in the championship. ... strange for the last round of matches.

Anyway.... im feeling really positive about the next few days.... a very interesting final week in the championship.

It may be significant that there are three spinners in the Bears' squad.

Get to the chippy early, buy up the stock and scatter the lucky one round the boundary.

Wish I could be there and really hoping there is a good crowd to give the team the big lift they need.

I will be there and I am quite confident we will have what we need one way or the other by the time the 4 days have passed.

That seems to show the ECB thought on this competition, that as long as it ends the season then job done - Not so, the last game should have it's last 2 days at the weekend so that the title gets it's rightful conclusion in front of as many supporters as possible.

Always sad when the championship season comes to an ends but what a climax this year with every1st Division game having something on it,if only the ecb could embrace it,just hope it doesn't end in tears for the bears be nice if Somerset could lift the title too!

I'll be there after lunch (leaving work a trifle early). Looks like the strongest squad we could put out, Lancs have opted to bowl first, I hope we can make a solid start!

A bit late now the match has started but here's my preview:

I've had a bit of a go at the ECB but I'm sure they are thick skinned enough to take it.

I noticed that, interesting selection. He made a decent 27 but I worry for next season, a combination of Westwood and Umeed/Mellor as openers leaves me feeling we will struggle again with the bat whichever division we are in.
