SEF v Worcs Aug 23-25
#1
Just announced there will be a day/night game against Worcestershire, played at Edgbaston, as a test game for a possible day/night test match for England v West Indies next year.

This will be an interesting experiment, & a great experience for the players involved.

i came down after the first session and left just before the end of second session, warwickshire was 206/5 Javid was just out and thomason had just got his 50.

a few supporters was saying they cant see the ball, i think they need new glasses i saw it with no trouble with my glasses and without.

shame it was a bit dreary weather i will try again tomorrow, and wednesday and give you my valid opinion, i think it could take off but doubt it will.

i have took a few pictures.

Ben Brookes, with 3-39 was the leading bowler in the Worcestershire innings.

127* for Matt Lamb, 75 for Liam Banks, in a total of 269-5 declared.

Worcs target is 274 off 38 overs, could be an interesting evenings cricket.

It's an interesting concept, playing with the pink ball, but good to be able to watch several hours of good quality cricket after a days work.

I went for the final 2 sessions yesterday. First of all, really enjoyed the game - Lamb batted well and Spencer looks a good prospect with the ball. I found the ball difficult to follow on occasions, also, it seemed to cause a type of double vision at times (this was commented upon by 2 others). Oh... And an amazing rainbow over the Hollies stand!

Game ended in a draw. I saw Mitchell Spencer take some wickets when I watched the seconds at Coventry a couple of weeks ago. He plays for Leek and Staffordshire.

I popped in for the first session yesterday and was impressed with both Lamb and Banks. Lamb is a tall lad who strikes the ball really well. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a chance in the CC side once the threat of relegation has been banished.
