A tough day in the field but the bowlers worked hard, especially Henry Brookes and Sunny Singh.

Looks like the batsmen are making a decent fist of it.
I'm surprised to see Nick Compton playing. I thought he had announced that he was taking an indefinite break from cricket.
Maybe the lure of playing at the Foundation Sports Ground was too hard to resist.

Very good batting from Warwickshire today. Ian Westwood was batting very well, & was the victim of a very poor decision by the umpire. Andy Umead looked untroubled, until he edged one to the keeper, Ed Pollackplayed some wonderful shots and was batting impressively, there was a good contribution from Alex Mellor too. However the batting performance of the day was from Matt Lamb, who is not out on 125, with 15x4 & 2x6.

Matt Lamb was finally out for 205, sharing a stand of 117 for the 9th wicket with Sunny Singh, who hit a career best 58.

In reply, Middlesex advanced to 252-3 at the close.

Exciting final day. Lamb 167, 369 runs in the match. Middx 376 War 383/9. Scores level, the injured Westwood came to the crease to face final 3 balls, and hit final ball of the match for 6 to tie the scores.

Looks like a great end to the game and an excellent performance from Mr Lamb, congratulations to him. I know that 'one swallow doesn't make a summer' but to score 350+ runs in the match and to significantly outscore a very recent Test player (Compton) is highly encouraging and augurs well for the future. Surely with two big innings to his name he deserves a first team chance - his confidence must be high and based on the recent paltry returns from our middle order, what have we got to lose anyway?

This was an excellent game of cricket, played in the right spirit, by two good teams. Lots of credit should go to groundsman Rob Franklin, for producing such a good wicket.

Matt Lamb is the first player for five years to score centuries in both innings of a second team game for Warwickshire, but the game features many other good performances with bat & ball.

I've just heard that Matt is added to the published squad for tomorrows game.
