England v Australia ODi & T20 Aug/Sept 2015
#1
Interesting to see that Middlesex have dropped the England ODI & T20 captain as he is averaging 10 in championship games & 6 in the three RLC games he's played.

Not really the form that merits selection for a national side!
While Robert may be bad, Robert is not all Mugabe's.
There are GOOD Mugabe's
It is Warwickshire County Cricket Club!

He won't be dropped though. He did too well against New Zealand but yes its worrying for the England odi captain to be rested for his county.

The squad has been announced, http://www.espncricinfo.com/the-ashes-20...13385.html

Very good to see that Chris Woakes and Moeen have been selected.

Yes... excellent news.

..... but a series that is after the lord mayors show at the fag end of the summer. Should have been played before the ashes imho.... like in 2005.

Agreed - a pity we didn't get a game like that on Finals Day.

yes better players on show though to be fair. When you look at that England batting line-up and Willey batting at 9 when he opens for Northants and Cummings bowling 93/94 mph

The ladies were also good. I think Buttler could learn a lot from watching Sarah Taylor keep wicket. She is outstanding. I didn't see her today but every other time i have seen her behind the stumps and the way she stands up to the steamers and takes the ball so cleanly.

....and just in case anyone thinks I am serious and am anti women in cricket, I should say that I was quite proud on Saturday that my daughter Gemma and I were possibly the only father and daughter ever to sit together in the Edgbaston Press Box.

I think he was being serious otherwise why try to justify and have to explain to everyone he was joking. I can spot a MCP from a distance...................it takes one to know one :-)

(only kidding, Terry)

Yes in all fairness the women are pretty good at the game. Athletic in the field, perhaps not the range of shots or power the men have with the bat but highly skilled with the ball. They sold out at Chelmsford and Hove. Their game is moving forward and I think the concept of an ashes series being played over all formats of the game is very good.

How very dare you!  Just because a man has a personal maidservant to wax and perm his chest hair twice a month doesn't mean he can't appreciate a female googly when he spots one.
