While listening to the Scotland v Sri Lanka game, the commentators started discussing various 'regional' best sides from teh competing nations.
I thought it might be an interesting topic for discussion on here.
So how about
"British Lions' (Eng, Sco & Ire)
Aus & NZ
Africa
Asia

Hard to pick an eleven that would compete from the British Lions. Will Porterfied as captain though!

How close could we get to a Bears/ex-Bears XI from the various squads? Having Dale Steyn opening the bowling and Kumar Sangakarra at first wicket down is not a bad start.
I guess we would have to include Majid Haq who seems to have been a bit of a naughty boy:

Excluding Haq, who never play a game at any level for Warwickshire, we have ten, as mentioned in the main world cup thread.
Those of us who follow our second team would probably allow for the inclusion of Steven Smith :-)
The ten are
England Bell, Moeen & Woakes
NZ Vettori
SL Kumar
ZA Steyn & Tahir
Sco MacLeod & Coleman
Ire Porterfield
Also Andy Moles, Streak and Trevor Penney are there as coaches, dare a say all are better than the current England coach.

Thanks for this, Mugabe. That's not a bad looking side.
Just curious - how did Majid Haq have a trial with Warwickshire without playing a game? Just in the nets?

One would assume that was the case, he's not listed on cricket archive as ever playing for us.
We'd have a good attack for a turning wicket & should score lots of runs.

Paul,
It's a play on words, think who is the second team scorer?
