Laurie Evans
It will be a good chance for him to show that he is just not a white ball specialist, at a higher level than 2nd xi cricket.

Good luck to him.
While Robert may be dead, Robert was not all Mugabe's.

I wonder whether this could lead to a long term deal. It could be a good move for Laurie - regular first team red ball cricket would virtually be assured and he would add to what is already a pretty handy one day team. Maybe we could tempt Ben Duckett to come the other way - exchange is no robbery after all....

Promising start for him yesterday. Came in with Northants under massive pressure and he steadied the ship somewhat.

Would love to see him back to the player he was a good two or three seasons ago.

I was musing today on England's penchant for choosing batsmen to keep wicket. Left field idea, I know, but has Laurie ever thought of trying on the gloves? If he could do it, it would make him a very good limited overs prospect.

How come he was playing v Surrey? ^Thought he went to Northants on loan

He was recalled from his loan as Sam Hain is injured.

His return was a roaring success.

At least he showed a bit of resilience in the second innings and faced 54 balls (third highest in our second innings)

Let's see what he can do today

Surviving 53 balls was not good enough.
96 overs in the day - we needed each of the top six to survive at least 80 to 90 balls. And that shows just how poor our batting line up is.

I wonder if we will try and send him out on loan again now that Sam is fit?
