So Jim back in the squad. Best of luck to him if he plays.

Yes, because he's named as captain, I assume he will play.

I don't know why they've named 14, unless there are some late fitness tests. I can't see Hain or Webb playing. The last place is interesting. Woakes will certainly play, so I guess Clarke or one of the seamers will miss out.

Northants won the toss and will bat.

Javid, Webb and Rankin omitted from the squad. Evans down to bat at 3, Hain 4 and Troughton 5.

You put the definite mockers on before you edited your post :cursing:

Northants showing depth of their batting line-up with ex South African international all-rounder Andrew Hall at number 8 (first class batting average 35.08) and hard hitting all rounder Steven Crook to come at number 9 (first class batting average 27.74). Surprised that Chris Wright is playing ahead of Boyd Rankin who I though out-bowled him in the previous Championship game.

100 partnership up. Need to do something quickly, we can ill afford not to win this one.

From 80 without loss to 102-3.

Familiarly disappointing story.

That we do, but it doesn't mean that the top order shouldn't be contributing better than they are doing, particularly against a very poor Northants bowling attack.

I'll say no more for now through fear of mockers given our current position.

Oh mockers anyway. Jim out for 69. Still a marvelous comeback though

Been waiting an hour or so to say it, but massive congratulations to Sam Hain on his 50. 87 not out at close, very mature innings by all accounts, others would do well to learn from it.

Great knock on his return by Jim too to steady the ship.

Can I say it will be great if Sam Hain can get another 13 runs tomorrow morning?

You can, but the blame will be firmly with you if he doesn't :blushing:

It's days like today that show why developing are own players is well worth the time & money invested.

Congratulations to Sam, but also Dougie & Michael Powell for spotting and helping Sam to develop.
While Robert may be bad, Robert is not all Mugabe's.
There are GOOD Mugabe's
It is Warwickshire County Cricket Club!
