Good to see Ian & Moeen get runs today.
Also, congratulations to Chris on receiving his PHD in Drinks Waiter skills :-)
While Robert may be bad, Robert is not all Mugabe's.

Yes I think both will think they have missed out in all fairness. They were all complimentary about Moeen, comparing him to Gower. Don't understand the calls for Butler when he hasn't scored a run for Lancs in first class cricket. Anyway looks like they made the right choice with Prior.

Shame for Chris but at least he's a part of the squad.

Stokes did nothing in the second team game at Coventry to suggest his omission from the test team was a mistake.

There was an England selector there on Wednesday to observe Stokes & Trott.

It's a shame Trotty will probably never be fit enough to play for England again, they could have done with him today.
He really did look high quality today, totally unhurried and in control.
I hope he enjoyed playing and batting again, and his performance in this game will help him with his recovery.

At Lords today... in London so thought Id pop along to the ground. Only £25 restricted view in mound stand available. Seat turns out to be excellent. ... cricket on the cheap! You can even bring a bottle in. Play is a bit turgid though.... Moeen is now coming on to bowl.. Trouble with Lords pitches.... they can remove fun from Test Cricket... . Batsmen must love them though.

Have a great day. You get to see the two greatest ever Sri Lankan batsmen for the last time at Lords. £25.00 is a bargain for that.

Sangakkara close to that century Paul.

The nursery end scoreboard keeps failing. LOL... so its not just Edgbaston.

Proves if you are on your own and turn up at the ground there are bargains to be had. Not sure what the restrcted view is? There is a post three rows behind me... im half way up the mound stand.

Feel sorry for the players and spectators. The pitch is so flat, Id do well on it....

Yes...... A big moment and he didn't seem phased by the big occasion.

Just got back..... A long day..... But interesting. Pleased to see Sangakkara score that century.

Seriously though, anyone who goes to a ground on their own should always get a cheap restricted view ticket if they are around..... My view turned out not to be restricted and was a bargain at £25.... But if it wasn't a full house, after an hour you could always find an 'empty' seat.

Back today.... probably 14000 here..... no 'cheap' tickets.... had to pay £55. Why so expensive on the fourth day? Anyway, yesterdays bargain has averaged it out :)

Strange tactics this morning... plenty of short bowling. Mathews deserved his century. Could be an interesting day.... but England must finish Sri Lanka off.
