I haven't watched it yet. What was your opinion?

I really enjoyed it - some elements took me by surprise in comparison to the first series - won't say anymore as it may spoil your watching.

I enjoyed it, especially the role of some of the characters who were not fully developed last series. They did seem to have put more work into the accents this time round.

Yes I enjoyed it. Dark atmosphere at times that really set the scene for the rest of the series.....

I am still critical of the 'Mixed' accents and some of the over-acting in the London scenes were a little embarrassing. Some might feel that I am being too critical but if you consider the lack of programmes set in this part of the world, now that we actually have one, it would be nice if things were a bit more authentic. And I don't go along with the theory that this is how people from Birmingham sounded during this period. I went on a site last year to look at the original Peaky Blinders from various police files and they were not tall, smart suited individuals but dirty, rough looking, badly dressed hoodlums which is exactly what they were. According to these files, not many of them were over 5' 4".

I thought the accents were better; but that may be because I've spent too long down here in Bristol where the accent is totally different and if you want to go shopping, you go down to Asdal, taking with you your umbrellal.
As for authenticity, I think the makers only claim that it is based on the original Peaky Blinders, not that it is an accurate portrayal. In any event, recruiting a bunch of ugly midgets to star in the series might have killed it off a bit too quickly.

Don't think Cillian Murphy or Tom Hardy are much taller than that.

No I don't know about Tom Hardy but Cillian Murphy is nowhere near 5ft 8

On this one he's standing next to Amanda Seyfreid who is about 5ft 2

It looks as though she has 2 or 3 inch heels on.

fair enough that makes him 5 ft 5 or 6 not5 ft 8 as is reported.

I am 5' 8 1/2" and I am sure Mr Murphy is much taller than me and Tom Hardy but I always find it hard to know who to believe when it comes to the height of actors. Mel Gibson had a big nark after insisting to Barry Norman, that he was the taller of the two. Hmmmmm! Actors eh! Gotta love 'em.

Can't you tell the cricket season is over - big discussion over the height (or lack of) of actors !!

Preview of Tom Hardy's character here:

Ironically in view of the debate on here, the clip begins with Tom Hardy saying about Cillian: "Put him down, he's only little"; and when they stand together towards the end of the clip, it's obvious that Tom Hardy is a lot taller.
Anyway, as Leicester Exile says, it's obvious there's nothing happening on the cricketing front - no books being published or anything like that.
