Ireland have a game starting on Friday so no Porterfield?

Frankly, no loss. Time for Sam Hain?[/align]

Hain can't buy a run in the Birmingham league at the moment so surely it must be time call up the Jack of all trades to bring his experience to bear.

Darren Maddy at number 5.Always there when we need him :001_smile:

Such confidence. I think you would get good odds on Porterfield getting a 100.

Yes, Why not Maddy? Hope the weather doesn't go and dump on us. Met office weather said sunshine and showers. C'mon Bears up and at 'em eh!

Over the last two days of second team T20 and 50 over games Maddy has hardly scored a run in 3 completed innings, including a first ball 0 in the first Somerset T20 game, so is hardly likely to be in the form to make a great contribution.

Sam got 47 today and Stef Piolet got 79, so both are likely to be ahead of Maddy if a batting slot opens up.

I'd like to see Piolet given a chance. Like Maddy he gives us a bowling option as well.

I forgot that Laurie Evans is ahead of all the others for the next batting place, as he was in possession before his injury.

Sorry I don't know why we are talking replacements as the team is the same 11 as played against Surrey.

I think 'Grizzly' sent the thread in that direction.

Anyway, nothing wrong with a discussion of hypothetical situations.

We can always discuss fair & progressive taxation systems if you prefer :-)

Yes we can discuss a top rate tax of 90% if you wish

Getting generous!
Wasn't it 98% when Denis Healy was chancellor of the exchequer?

Barker looks to have come back extremely sharp.

Wright on the other hand isn't quite looking the player he had become, hopefully he rediscovers his form.

Yes important time of the innings now

Ben Stokes seems to be the key again for them against us after his fantastic performance at Edgbaston. He is becoming a very good cricketer, provided he can limit the off field shenanigans he could be quite useful in the England fold moving forward.

Colonel Mustard in to partner him. As you say Paul, critical time now in terms of the pendulum of this match.
