Chance to Shine
#1
Gemma and I went last night to the launch of a new partnership between Chance to Shine and the National Osteoporosis Society.
It may seem an odd match-up; but actually, it's a logical link - Gemma explains it on her blog:

I thought our ex-Bear Wasim Khan was very impressive in the little talk he gave about the work of Chance to Shine.
Giles Clarke gave the keynote speech and came across quite well. I wanted to tackle him about that ECB questionnaire but he left before I could speak to him. Probably just as well!

That's my daughter Gemma, who you know. As I read it, she is saying it is "perhaps much less likely" because there are only three competitions now rather than the four back in the nineties - but you'd have to ask her!

Bentley Heath is where I was born and I knew lots of kids who went to the school there.
The sad thing is that, when I was a kid, Bentley Heath primary had a cricket team. I know because I played against them. Now the kids there have to be introduced to cricket like it's a foreign language.
