Given the crazy number of CC games next month I think it would benefit England, Warks and Woakes to get a shed load of overs in ahead of the Ashes which is a lot more important than playing a couple of games against WI

I think he will play at last one test against the windies if he stays fit. They will want to get a test in before the ashes.

Great news for Chris. Transcending threads somewhat here, but with Westley failing again, if Bell were to rediscover his form without the distractions now, a good end to the season could conceivably see him walk back into the England side with all the problems we are having internationally.

Westley and Malan don't look test match quality. Bell needs to step up and score big

He certainly has plenty of incentive.

Nice to see Chris impressing with bat and ball in the ODI today. He played some of the shots of the day.

Yes plus two run-outs including one where he kicked the ball onto the stumps from quite a few yards out.

Reported in The Times today that Chris reached 1000 runs and 100 wickets in ODIs at the weekend. Only the fourth Englishman to do this and fastest of them all in terms of games played. Faster than Botham; faster than Flintoff; and (no surprise) faster than Collingwood. Pretty darned impressive. Well done.

Sadly missing out on the Test team for the second test versus NZ. Has contributed with the bat, but unfortunately not taking many wickets at this level.

Don't think he has been any worse than Overton and has contributed enough with the bat to keep his place, but I have been disappointed with his red ball bowling during the winter.

Think it's a harsh decision to drop Woakes instead of Overton to be honest.

He scored a(n extremely !) quickfire ton for the Seconds against Leicester today, in his return from injury. Nicely set up for a comeback for England !

Really hoping he'll be back for the Edgbaston test, which I'm going to Day 3 of.
