I was sorely tempted to say something similar but refrained, so thank you for filling the gap that I left.

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned already, but Tim has been awarded a well-deserved benefit year in 2016:

A nice interview with Tim here:

Does anyone know what he has in common with the creator of Sherlock Holmes?

At time of writing, both Tim Ambrose and Arthur Conan Doyle have taken just one first class wicket.

Yes, that's right.  Although Conan Doyle famously brought Sherlock back to life after killing him off, it's unlikely that Sir Arthur will re-appear and add to his tally.  As for Tim, if I were him, I would make sure I never bowled again to preserve my career average.
Just as Tim's only wicket was a distinguished one, Sir Arthur's one victim was W.G. Grace.

Excellent season for Tim. Great keeper, solid batsmen, but surely the stand out feature must be finishing the season at the top of the FC bowling averages.

Tim Ambrose hits bouncers for six - good news.
Oh, hang on a minute, it was his girl friend - not such good news:

A bit of a sad story.  Let's hope it was a one-off moment of stupidity.
