Trotty!
I agree that we are all human and can be provoked. It's just that trouble seems to be following JT around a bit more than I would like.
I also accept that this is no new thing. I was at Edgbaston in 1967 when a spectator attacked Brian Close, captain of Yorkshire and England, with his umbrella - an unusual case of the fan hitting the sh*t.

The only thing that worries me is the fact that young players look up to these guys who ever they are. I would hope all England players would try to be role models for the young people aspiring to be 'just like them'. I hate it when spectators shout out at players, my response would also be to say have you ever played this game at this level? 'if so come down here and try and do better'. I remember Dougie saying just that when someone criticized Nick Knight for a missfield.

Are we sure it's true - I haven't seen any reference to this 'incident' other than the one mentioned earlier in the thread. It's not in the papers or the cricket sites.

Thing I find dodgy about the "story" is how out of proportion Trotts reported reaction is to what is reported as said. Heaven knows hes had far worse to put up with.

Unfortunately I agree with him now about Harry. He's turned Spurs around very quickly. Obviously hes had the fortune of having a ready made star in Gareth Bale. I bet you wish you had Zola not Grant now Kim. . Sorry wrong thread I know.

Jonathan Trott has now entered the top 10 in the ICC Test batting rankings:

Theres a bloke on another website whose a big Collingwood fan who has a real downer on Trott and keeps citing his away record and comparing it to Colly and Collys record in Australia.

Hes not been posting much today.

Hmmm his away record when hes played in one series before now.... Thats a very good effort to be the no.8 in the world. Kim must be pleased with the no.1 and DD not so pleased.

Trotty's innings was marvellous - I stayed up to watch him get his century just before lunch (2am) and suffered the next day at work! At least I've got a couple of nights respite before the next test.

It's an indication of the shifts in attitude amongst the press that Trotty's idiosyncracies are now no longer the subject of vindictively negative articles but inspire playfully affectionate tributes like this:

I like the idea of KP having thigh pad rash from waiting so long to come out to bat.
