Strange how some people let their irrational thought processes, and petty hatreds, prevent them understanding the reality of a situation!

Actually as a supporter of a club that has had a similar experience, and survived, I find the situation concerning, and probably even more serious than the situation at Blues a few years ago. The much higher cost base at the lower grounds makes the situation significantly harder to rectify.

Given the number of clubs that have been threatened with action under FFP only for nothing to then happen, that aspect doesn't worry me. I would also not be too bothered by the prospect of next season's squad containing up and coming young players rather than over-the-hill mates of Steve Bruce. What does anger me is the evidence that the off-field running of the club remains shambolic. Stock-piling not very good players with money we don't have. Oh dear.

Reports suggest he would be 2nd choice for Leeds. As his contract his worth c£3million per year, it’s very unlikely that there are actually funds available to terminate his contract, even if they wanted to.
Remember this is a business that required a loan to pay last months bill to the HMRC, and is likely to have similar issues this month.

Theres no doubt we are a mess. Gambling on promotion and failing. Suspect we will have to sell most of our players and play the youngsters. Grealish is the only real asset we have. He needs to play football at a higher level.

The team from the lower grounds now have new investors, so hopefully they won't have to take out more "payday" loans to pay the tax bill this month.
Seriously though, the business is still in critical condition, in breach of Financial Fair play rules, with the consequences of that position, and they have exhausted the patience of the HMRC, who would be totally justified in seeking a winding up order if the club defaults on its tax liabilities again.

Until players' wages are based on the income a club obtains this situation will just continue right across the whole of pro football.

Do the new owners know anything about English football?
Still, it's nice to know that the club is now so flush with cash that we can afford to pay off the manager and half the coaching staff.

Congratulations to Dean Smith on his appointment and good luck - especially with managing the ego of his Assistant Manager.

Sad to hear of the death of Doug Ellis - like him or loath him he managed to keep the Park Team in the headlines throughout his time there.

Doug Ellis made a great contribution to sport, business and the community in our area, as was probably the best owner that he club from the Lower Grounds ever had.
Thoughts are with his family and friends.
