Aston Villa, and other football teams!
Just a bit more than 10% WB.

Blues are 1 point away from the play-off spots.

Villa are 1 point above the relegation spots.

Interesting times.

The team from the lower grounds should be congratulated on averaging a point per game, a significant improvement of their performance last season!

I see Villa's odds on being relegated have shortened from 28/1 to 22/1. The mugs' league's mug league beckons

LE... I've just spat my coffee out with laughter. :-)

Amazing how quick the games come..... Surely Villa won't be in a relegation battle?

The amount of cash they have spent already anything less the playoffs is failure.

5 points is a very poor return for the £33 million invested on new players over the summer.

I can see another "winter of discontent" at the Lower Grounds.

Forest have not had a draw this season, winning 3 & losing 2 of their five league games, a win tomorrow would lift them into fourth place in the table.

With only one win & two draws from their five league games, the team from the 'Lower Grounds' are showing a very poor return on the sum of over £33 million invested by the owners on new signings during the summer.

Defeat tomorrow, unless by a margin higher than some players batting averages, is unlikely to result in moving further down the table, but even at this early stage of the season, several trends and patterns are becoming established.

Over the last 12 seasons, a club would, on average, need 46 points to avoid relegation, with a high of 55 and the lowest being 41.

Unless there are significant performance improvements, this will be yet another "winter of discontent" at the Lower Grounds.

A good point for Villa at home tonight in their relegation fight, against a team pushing for a play-off spot.

Agreed - 2 points clear of relegation now!!

A great win from behind for the Blues.

Another battling point for Villa's relegation fight. Despite no getting a shot on target, these are the points that can make a difference at the bottom of the table at the end of the season.

All in all, a great sporting day.

The Good Mugabe
A good away point for Blues, while the team from the Lower Grounds dropped another two points at home, and have gone six weeks, including all of september without a League win.
I'm sure I can remember some of their supporters saying it would all be so different for them this season!

Does anyone have a copy of the League One Handbook, there is a buyer in Aston desperate for a copy :-)

Also, it seems there are still behaviour and professionalism issues at the club http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37464819

Interesting article in the Telegraph today

Suggests the owners will be looking for, yet another, new manager next week.

Alardice has gone, "mutual decision", in other words they've agreed a pay off.

Wonder if he'll be a candidate for the vacancy at the Lower Grounds.
