Aston Villa, and other football teams!
Is Leicester the strongest city for Pro sports in the country?
Leicester Tigers are one of the top rugby sides in Europe, Leicester Riders are the best side in British Basketball, winning the BBL Trophy, reaching the final of the BBL Cup and needing just one win from their remaining two game to clinch the BBL League title. We all know about the success of Leicester City, who were promoted to the premier league just two seasons ago.

Looks that way, pity about the cricket team though.

Indeed, but they might improve and as Meatloaf would have sang "3 out of 4 ain't bad" :-)

Oh, well.  I guess that means the season has been a success for Villa?  Rolleyes

Sadly, most of the people losing their jobs are not responsible for the current situation.

No just means you weren't right in your prediction Philly  Dodgy Close but if you had bet on it you would have lost jusst as I did on Jordan Speith in the masters  Angry

Sack a couple of under-performing players will probably save more than a few members of staff.

I wonder whether there was any suspicious spot-betting in the Far East markets about The Masters?

I couldn't believe my eyes when he didn't just put it in water once on that par 3 but did it again from the drop zone. That is something a council course golfer would do or not.

A visionary - is our Harry.

As for this thread I am reminded of the old traditional song -

Where have all the Villains gone,
long time passing
Where have all the Villains gone
long time ago
Where have all the Villains gone
Gone in hiding everyone
When will they ever learn
When will they ever learn.

Is it true that Villa have cancelled their Player of the Season awards?

Apt, but also hilarious.

Yes, full report on Bbc web site.

I remember last season they cancelled their goal of the month competition, there were no entries :-)

But surely there is nothing in the rules that says the winner has to be playing for Villa at the time.

True, but there is a rule that it has to be a goal scored for the club!
