Matthew Renshaw

Matt Renshaw scored 100 before lunch, something I haven't seen since Bob Barber some 50-odd years ago. He did it with plenty of time to spare against an attack including Brooks, Coad and Bresnan (who weren't hurrying through the overs). I don't remember him giving a chance, just one bottom edge that flew very close to the stumps. To put it in context, twenty wickets fell in the day and only two other players got past 30. This was special.

It is Renshaw's second hundred in consecutive games. Maybe Somerset aren't too upset at missing out on Cameron Bancroft.
I think you may be right about Renshaw - I saw him last weekend and was impressed.
With Warwickshire in Division Two, I think I can hope, with a clear conscience, for Somerset to win the County Championship.  It's about time.
Good, also, to see Tom Abell get some runs today. I still have hopes for an almost biblical England batting order of Hain and Abell, probably followed by a rhyming trio of Stokes, Foakes and Woakes.
Keep up-to-date with County Cricket at
