It's taken an ex-Blues manager to get you where you are - just remember.

If you hadn't sacked Gary Rowett you may have been up there too

Definitely agree with you on that one - in fact today's game may not have taken place as we may well have been in the EPL

Could be a while before the derby takes place again. Unless you get drawn against us in the Cup after getting through the first two rounds.

Are you suggesting the park team will actually get promoted?

The dream season of Villa up, Blues down remained a possibility until very late in the year but I suppose one should congratulate Blues on staying up when their position looked very shaky for a while.

I think Steve Bruce did well to get Villa into the play-offs. There's still every chance of winning it although I would expect a struggle next year if we get back into the Premiership. Maybe another couple of derbies with the Blues wouldn't be so bad.

How many bitter and twisted blue noses had become Middlesbrough fans this evening?

How many bitter and twisted vile fans went to Blackburn last year and purchased Blackburn shirts in the hope that their team would actually get beat!!

A very good & readable blog, focusing on the business side of football, and the blues ownership http://almajir.net/

One interesting thing is about how the FFP (financial fair play) regulations are affecting our local clubs,

It suggests that having lost their parachute payments from the Premier League, there needs to be a massive cost reduction at the Lower Grounds.

Indeed, very close to a HMRC winding up order too.

It will be very difficult for the business to survive losses of £5 million a month. I'd expect some bargain prices available for some of the players and the club possibly going into administration.

Realistically, any hope of promotion is gone until the business is better run and more stable.

Only a bitter and twisted blue nose would write off another team's promotion chances in the close season, as Alanis Morissette might say 'isn't it ironic'
